The City of Goodland and Sherman County will be working together this
year in a joint effort to clean up the community. For the week of April 9 – 13, Goodland and
Sherman County residents will be able to utilize public resources to get rid of particular
materials and junk.
First, the City will be conducting its annual “sweep” of Goodland. Residents may place any
unwanted items to the curb of their front yards and City crews will pick up and dispose of
these items free of charge. As a new provision this year, City crews will only be sweeping
through neighborhoods one time. Therefore, residents must have their unwanted items to
the curb by Monday, April 9. The following items will not be picked up: tires, grass, garden
waste, paint, and household hazardous waste. Trees will be collected if they are cut into 4-
foot length segments. There is no need to phone in your pickup, just place the items at your
curb by April 9.
As an added benefit this year, all Sherman County residents will be able to dispose of items
at the Sherman County Landfill free of charge with proof of ID. Tires and commercial
concrete will not be accepted.
Please help us spread the word to keep Goodland and Sherman County clean.
