AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TEXT OF CHAPTER 4 SECTION 803 TO REFLECT THE ZONING DISTRICTS THAT ARE RECOGNIZED BY THE CITY OF GOODLAND MUNICIPAL CODE AND ZONING REGULATIONS.
WHEREAS, the Governing Body has found it is in the best interest of the City of Goodland to amend the text in Chapter 4 Section 803 of the Municipal Code for the City of Goodland, Kansas
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF GOODLAND, KANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City of Goodland Code Chapter 4 Section 803 is hereby amended to read as follows:Sec. 4-803. – Types of fences; zoned areas.
No person, firm or corporation shall construct or keep or maintain any barbed wire fence or fence any part of which is composed of barbed wire or any electric fence within those areas of the City of Goodland zoned as Residential 1 “R-1”, Residential 2 “R-2” or Manufactured Home Park “M-P” or on any property on which a dwelling exists regardless of zoning; provided, that a barbed wire fence may be permitted around business or governmental property so long as the lowest strand of the same is at least seven feet above the ground, is constructed around business or governmental property and used for security purposes, and does not detrimentally affect the public welfare or unduly endanger the public taking into consideration the security purpose for which the fence is constructed.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in force and take effect after its publication in the Goodland Star News.
