ORDINANCE NO. 1809
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 17-204.1 – ADDITIONAL CUSTOMER CHARGE FOR EXTRA ORDINARY POWER COSTS, TO CHAPTER 17 ARTICLE II OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF GOODLAND
WHEREAS, the City of Goodland established the additional Customer Charge for Extraordinary Power cost on the utility bill through the passage of Ordinance 1738 and amended by Ordinance 1788; and
WHEREAS, Section 17-204.1 of the Goodland Municipal Code was enacted to cover the extraordinary power cost incurred during the February 2021 energy emergencies only. These charges have been recovered in full.
WHEREAS, the Governing Body finds it is in the best interest of the city to repeal Section 17-204.1 and the additional customer charge for extra ordinary power cost on electrical utility bills for all users as provided in Sections 17-202, 17-203 and 17-204 of the City of Goodland, Kansas.
NOW, THEREFORE LET IT BE ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF GOODLAND, KANSAS:
Section 1. Section 17-204.1 is hereby repealed in its entirety.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in force and take effect after its publication in the Goodland Star News.
