The City of Goodland Police Department is currently accepting applications for highly motivated individuals to fill the Administrative Assistant/Evidence Custodian position. Goodland is a community of approximately 4,700 covering 4.371 sq. miles, approximately 17 miles from the Colorado border.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Have the ability to obtain a valid Kansas Driver’s License
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must not have been convicted of a crime of domestic violence, certain misdemeanor crimes, or any felony.
- Possess good moral character
Duties:
- Highly motivated with the ability to handle frequent interruptions.
- Able to multi-task is a must.
- Perform a wide variety of clerical duties including but not limited to those related to collecting, indexing, processing, maintaining, retrieving, copying, and distributing technical and confidential law enforcement data and information including police reports, citations, witness statements, and any other information collected during investigations.
- Perform as the evidence custodian for all evidence collected and maintained by the department.
- Type correspondence, forms, and other confidential and specialized documents from drafts, notes, dictated tapes, or brief instructions; compose letters and other documents as necessary.
- Proficient in-office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers. Must be very proficient with computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Daily contact with the general public, co-workers, supervisory personnel, and occasional contact with the City Administrative Officer is expected.
Applicants must pass a series of tests and an oral interview board. Final candidates will be required to pass a background investigation. A conditional job offer requires the applicant to pass a physical and a drug screen.
