The High Plains Museum is hosting the traveling exhibit “K is for Kansas” from the Kauffman Museum.  This fantastic exhibit will be here until March 17th.  Special thanks to the Gulick Family Fund for helping to bring this exhibit back to the High Plains Museum.

“K is for Kansas” explores our great state through the alphabet with lots of hands-on, interactive components.  Visitors will learn about famous Kansas people, places, animals and things as well as stories often overlooked in our states history.

Designed after the alphabet blocks of your childhood, this exhibit is a must see if you want to learn more about your state.  It is also an award winning exhibit receiving awards for the 28-page folding A-B-C booklet which won First Place in the 2004 American Association of Museums Publications Design Competition and the 2004 Award for Excellence in Publication from Mountain-Plains Museums Association.  The complete exhibit project received a 2004 Kansas Museums Association Award for Excellence and a 2006 American Association for State and Local History Award for Merit (their highest award).
