Due to a project to replace two poles on the tie in line northwest of Goodland, the Goodland Power Plant will operate and provide power for all city customers tomorrow on March 13, 2024.  After conducting regular maintenance checks on the power lines, equipment and poles on the power line that connects to Goodland, Sunflower Electric determined that two poles needed to be replaced.  While those poles are replaced, the line needs to be out of service.  Consequently, Goodland’s Electric Department will operate the city power plant for as long as needed which is expected to be the entire day on Wednesday, March 13.   The city’s power plant remains an important part of providing efficient power without large interruptions to all the customers within the City of Goodland.  Customers should not see any noticeable interruptions or changes to their electric service during the switch at the beginning or end of the project.
