GOODLAND CITY COMMISSION

Regular Meeting

August 2, 2021                                                                                                                           5:00 P.M.

Mayor John Garcia called the meeting to order with Commissioner Aaron Thompson, Commissioner J. J. Howard and Commissioner Gary Farris responding to roll call. Vice-Mayor Jay Dee Brumbaugh was reported absent.  

Also present were Dustin Bedore – Director of Electric Utilities, Frank Hayes – Chief of Police Joshua Jordan – IT Director, Kenton Keith – Director of Streets and Facilities, Danny Krayca –                                                                                   Director of Parks, and Mary Volk – City Clerk.

Mayor Garcia led Pledge of Allegiance

Approval of Agenda – ON A MOTION by Commissioner Howard to approve Agenda as presented seconded by Commissioner Farris.  MOTION carried on a VOTE of 4-0.

PUBLIC COMMENT

CONSENT AGENDA

  1. 07/19/21 Commission Meeting Minutes
  2. Appropriation Ordinances: 2021-15, 2021-15A, and 2021-P15

ON A MOTION by Commissioner Thompson to approve Consent Agenda seconded by Commissioner Howard.  MOTION carried on a VOTE of 4-0.

ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS

  1. Resolution 1576: Authorizing Mayor to Enter into Easement and Lease-Tower Point – Mary stated, resolution was required for closing process on Tower Point lease.  ON A MOTION by Commissioner Thompson to approve Resolution 1576: Authorizing Mayor to Enter into Easement and Lease-Tower Point seconded by Commissioner Farris.  MOTION carried on a VOTE of 4-0.

REPORTS

  1. City Commissioners

Commissioner Thompson – 1.  No Report 

Vice-Mayor Brumbaugh – 1.  Absent, No Report 

Commissioner Howard – 1.  No Report 

Commissioner Farris – 1.  Looks like chip sealing went well.  Mayor Garcia asked, when will you fog seal?  Kenton stated, it is up in the air.  We normally have Cobitco seal but cannot get oil.  B & H does not seal, but can use him as a last resort and will not be until September or October.

ADJOURNMENT WAS HAD ON A MOTION BY Commissioner Farris seconded by Commissioner Howard.  Motion carried by unanimous VOTE, meeting adjourned at 5:04 p.m.  Next meeting is scheduled for August 16, 2021.
